Music Questions II

Electric Boogaloo

1. Who is the first artist you remember loving?
This is... a good question. The first time I listened to music on purpose was around year 7/8, so either Fall Out Boy or 21 Pilots. Actually, I'm pretty sure it was 21 Pilots because I remember wanting to go to their Trench tour with my friend in year 8, and that was before I played Stardew Valley for the first time. (I heavily associate Fall Out Boy with Stardew Valley. Don't question it)

2. Who is the artist you put on to cry to?
I have a 2 hour playlist for this purpose but just in general, Wilbur Soot. I've listened to his first album Your City Gave Me Asthma ever since it first came out! It's so sad, it gets me in the feels every time :( I also love Maybe I Was Boring, an EP of songs that didn't make it into Your City Gave Me Asthma, but Screensaver is hands down my favourite song by him. It's incredibly annoying that he didn't officialy-officialy release them so only Your City Gave Me Asthma is on spotify, but I have a youtube playlist for his songs.

3. What was the first concert you went to?
I saw Guns n Roses last year! To be honest I was really tired by the time they came on and I ended up leaving early qwq In my defense! I like Guns n Roses but I really went for the openers, The Chats are one of my favourite bands ever, and Alien Weaponry are amazing <3 !! And I got a Guns n Roses hoodie from that, and I wear it every day! I'm wearing it right now :3

4. Do you prefer CDs, streaming, or vinyl?
I LOVE THIS QUESTION. Ok ok they all have their pros and cons! I appreciate them all. One of them a liiiitle bit more than all the others, and by that I mean I would marry CDs if I could. Streaming is the most convenient, all you gotta do is pay $x/month and download an app on your phone. However, you don't own anything and the companies can just rip your favourite artists from their platform whenever they want to! >:( The artists also get paid jackshit. Wow factor: 0. Practicality: 10.
Vinyl is fun, it's really cool to own but it's obviously not portable and vinyls are very expensive. You can get lucky and find some in op shops, but I haven't been so lucky before. Wow factor: 10 billion. Practicality: 3/10.
CDs are my favourite <3333 They're great because they're cheapest long-term. (I think. I haven't done any actual research or analysis.) But a lot of people already have a CD collection if they're older than like 30, and you can find them really cheap at op shops. They're a bit more expensive from stores like The Warehouse or JB Hifi and even more expensive from official band websites, but you can also rip songs for free and make mixtapes and stuff, so it kind of evens out. I just really really love physical media and especially CDs and DVDs, I actually just bought a portable CD player today and it should ge here in a couple weeks!! I don't own any but my mother has LOADS so I'm going to ask if I can have a couple of her accadacca CDs.

5. Which artist has been the most life changing for you?
I have to be super cringe here (/positive) and say MCR. They were probably the first "alt" band I was into, and liking them got me into other bands and social circles, as well as the whole punk scene in general. I wouldn't call them punk though, definitely emo/rock, but listening to MCR I think was the catalyst for getting into punk music and my favourite bands to this day.

6. You have to get a lyric tattoo - which lyric is it?
"I'd rather live my life visibly trans" from Nvr Pass by She/Her/Hers

7. Do you have a favourite genre, or dabble in it all?
My favourite genre is obviously punk, I think most people who know me would know that. I'm punk, I like punk music, I like punk culture. To be fair I don't know very many people in real life. I know my therapist, who knows I like punk music. And my brother and mother only know that I like Dead Kennedys, and I don't know anybody else in real life. I have a lot of online friends but most them I met through punk stuff so that's kind of a given. I think I listen to a good variety of music as well though? My playlists that I mainly listen to are Faggotry (punk and a bit of metal), Transgenderism (emo and pop-punk), Pepperoni (rap), and :( which is my sad playlist, mainly midwest emo I think. I also really like hyperpop for when I'm studying and I'm trying to get a bit more into scene music :3

8. Who is the most overrated artist in your opinion?
Taylor Swift.

9. How important is music to you, on a scale of 0-100?
A million! :D

10. Do you have music playing right now? If so, what?
Of course I do, who do you think I am? Some heathen who doesn't need to listen to music 24/7 or else it'll go insane?? I'm listening to my friend (ok.. my tumblr mutual)'s playlist Woag (it's a really nice playlist I love it) and the current song playing is Don't Feel Quite Right by Palaye Royale =^owo^=

11. How did you discover your favourite artist?
This is a good question for somebody with a functioning memory. I think most of the artists I like I just was friends with someone who likes them for long enough to get annoyed and listen to them? One of my favourite artists right now is Waterparks, and the reason I started listening to them is because my tumblr mutual likes them and I wanted to know what all the hype was about. (the same mutual got me into Good Omens the same way lmao)
